Anime Review: Trickster

Trickster is an anime everyone seems to absolutely hate, and for some reason have to comment on how much they hate this anime, when they're on episode 20. (Whyareyoustillwatchingitthen?!!??!?!?)

Trickster has two main protagonists, Hanasaki, and Kobayashi.

Hanasaki, is a part of the Boys Detective Agency. Which is a group that does tasks such as finding a cat, or finding a cheater, etc...
One of their goals is to find, and catch a mysterious villain known as "20 Faces".
20 faces loves thrills, and never gets his own hands dirty. He has a mysterious tie to the leader of the Boys Detective group, Akechi.

When Hanasaki & Kobayashi meet, Kobayashi jumps off of a building, and remains unharmed. He has a strange power that makes him immortal, due to a strange "fog". (Although, to me, it always looked like some kind of wind magic, but it's called a fog... Whatever!)

All Kobayashi wants, is to die! But due to his powers, he can't. Hanasaki makes a deal with him, if he joins the Boys Detective Club, he'll find a way to kill Kobayashi!
The second half of the anime gets more serious, and one of the characters go through their own crisis. There is plenty of character development for Kobayashi, and Hanaski. Some characters also get more limelight, such as episode 14, which stars a minor character.

The ending of the anime is also not what you would expect, which I think is a nice touch.

I greatly enjoyed this anime, and just like how I enjoyed Shangri-La, and Saint October, I seem to be the only person to like this anime as well. I watched the show on Crunchyroll, and all anyone could say in the comments, was how they're so done with this anime, and they're done with these characters.. and I'd be like, I'm so done with you, why are you here whining?!

Trickster is a fun anime that starts off episodic, it has a city adventure kind of vibe to it. The story gets deeper near the end of the first "Season", Some major character development happens after episode 12, and the characters, and the story start to get fleshed out. We also meet Hanasaki's long lost spiritual twin in the second half of the show (I swear, they're like the same person, it's so funny).
Trickster is the city-based, action/adventure, anime with a slight shounen-ai vibe, that I was looking for!
