Anime Review: Trickster

Trickster is an anime everyone seems to absolutely hate, and for some reason have to comment on how much they hate this anime, when they're on episode 20. (Whyareyoustillwatchingitthen?!!??!?!?)

Trickster has two main protagonists, Hanasaki, and Kobayashi.

Hanasaki, is a part of the Boys Detective Agency. Which is a group that does tasks such as finding a cat, or finding a cheater, etc...
One of their goals is to find, and catch a mysterious villain known as "20 Faces".
20 faces loves thrills, and never gets his own hands dirty. He has a mysterious tie to the leader of the Boys Detective group, Akechi.

When Hanasaki & Kobayashi meet, Kobayashi jumps off of a building, and remains unharmed. He has a strange power that makes him immortal, due to a strange "fog". (Although, to me, it always looked like some kind of wind magic, but it's called a fog... Whatever!)

All Kobayashi wants, is to die! But due to his powers, he can't. Hanasaki makes a deal with him, if he joins the Boys Detective Club, he'll find a way to kill Kobayashi!
The second half of the anime gets more serious, and one of the characters go through their own crisis. There is plenty of character development for Kobayashi, and Hanaski. Some characters also get more limelight, such as episode 14, which stars a minor character.

The ending of the anime is also not what you would expect, which I think is a nice touch.

I greatly enjoyed this anime, and just like how I enjoyed Shangri-La, and Saint October, I seem to be the only person to like this anime as well. I watched the show on Crunchyroll, and all anyone could say in the comments, was how they're so done with this anime, and they're done with these characters.. and I'd be like, I'm so done with you, why are you here whining?!

Trickster is a fun anime that starts off episodic, it has a city adventure kind of vibe to it. The story gets deeper near the end of the first "Season", Some major character development happens after episode 12, and the characters, and the story start to get fleshed out. We also meet Hanasaki's long lost spiritual twin in the second half of the show (I swear, they're like the same person, it's so funny).
Trickster is the city-based, action/adventure, anime with a slight shounen-ai vibe, that I was looking for!

Retail Stories: This was strange, even for me..

I've had my fair of strange customers in retail, here's a few stories.

Sipping too much of the cuckoo juice!

A customer once asked me, "Do you have any luggage that is not made with chemicals that can cause cancer, and birth defects in California?"

First off, I really don't know. I put stuff out, and clean up messes made by the other customers.  I don't have any time to specifically read labels on the products, as I have a million other things to do than find the answer to a question I've only been asked once in almost 5 years. (That's not even an exaggeration)  Second of all, it's just a warning, it specifically says "CAN CAUSE", not that it will. It just wants you to be careful, it doesn't necessarily mean it will cause anything. The only thing it was causing me is a headache!

You're cuckoo, and you don't know it? Unfortunately...

One lady asked if I worked at the store, I said yes. I thought she wanted to actually ask me a question, but all she wanted to do was talk about how excited she was... She was so happy that we had twin sheets in white. She was complaining about the next door competitor who didn't have twin sheets, or didn't have just white sheets.
She talked about how its so hard to find Twin sheets that are in white, because people like her (Who had to be 40-50.) Sleep in a twin bed.. (What, I'm half her age and I sleep in a full!) She was complaining about how all of the twin sheets are college oriented (Wonder why..),  and how there aren't white sheets because "people don't want to wash their sheets, because the colored ones won't stain" (What). She was so happy to find a white twin sheet.. ( I really thought she was like, lowkey racist too.)
10 minutes after I got away from this nut, she finds me again, and asks me if we had white sheets in either Polyester or Cotton ( I don't remember). The sheet we had was one of the two, but she wanted the other one. I said that's all we had, we don't really get twin sheets.
SO AFTER ALL OF THAT OBNOXIOUS WHINING ABOUT WHITE TWIN SHEETS, there was still a problem, which really isn't a big deal! (Unless she had some kind of allergy, which wasn't the case.)

This lady seriously needed to get over herself. First off, she should have a Queen sized bed, because they're comfy, and you'll have room for all of your pillows. Especially since she had a twin sized bed, she was definitely a crazy cat lady. If she had a queen bed, she can fit like 10 of her cats.
Also, maybe people like color sheets, not because they're lazy... but because, I don't know, maybe they like colors better?! I'd go for red sheets, over white, any day! I mean, it is the most amazing, devastatingly beautiful color in the world, but of course! :P

So, I've made of list of things she needs to do.

• Queen Sized bed for Pillow Fort, and all the cats she probably has!
• Any kind of sheets, because who cares, and colors are pretty to look at!

Drama Queen from California

I was not here to witness this event, but a lady found a notebook, that had a religious phrase on it. The phrase was incorrect, and said it was "Philippians verse 29", when apparently Philippians only goes to 24 verses. She cut in line, and annoyed other customers. She had an associate call up a manager, because the book had the wrong verse in it. She kept complaining about how the verse is wrong, and was very over-dramatic about it. The lady wanted to complain about how it was wrong, and wanted to talk to corporate about it, as well as the company that made the book. When she looked in the book, for details from who made it, she saw that it was from Los Angeles, which is apparently where she's from. She knows the company who made it, and she was shocked to find out that they had something wrong on their product. The quote was something like "I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me", and it said Philippians 29.

I don't understand why this lady would think that the manager, or corporate could do anything about a book being incorrect. The store just orders stuff to sell, It's not like they make the books themselves! The manager was so over it, and just shooed her away. lol

The funny thing is, my store is a discount store, and we get stuff all the time that is wrong. If furniture is damaged, we get it, if a candle is melted lop sided, we get it. The store gets plenty of rejects, and it's very possible, that's why we got it. It's amazing how this lady caused a ruckus over a simple mistake.

The company that made it, is called Bridge Port Products.

Youtubers to check out! Dk1Games

Today I am posting about a youtuber, who does let's plays! His name is Joseph Birdsong, also known as "DK1Games", on youtube. He's a blogger, youtuber, and a podcaster (Is that even a word?).  He used to post funny videos online, but has put on a new cape, and does gaming videos instead. His gaming videos are very fun to watch, and he's quite the character! He has a plethora of tasteful words, and catchphrases. Such as "He's dead as a door-nail", or "He's coming to nibble at my biscuits!", and plenty of others. I also really like his naming system for crazy characters, like "Crazy McSusan", or "Becky with the bad hair", also known as "Crazy McBecky". Which I've also used as a colorful way to talk about distasteful people. Just today at work, I said to my friend Tina, Becky with the bad hair is coming this way, I better go!
He's lot's of fun to watch, and the games he plays are very interesting! I've shown some of my friends his videos, and they like that he is more happy, and upbeat, where other let's players are brooding. He's really cool, and deserves more attention!

Check out his Bayonetta series so far! It's a great series that needs more love! Bayonetta, is totally the secret gay icon of 2017, just like babadook!

He's done plenty of other series too, such as Tomb Raider, Bratz, Monster High, Resident Evil 7, and plenty more!

Check him out!

Things that only apply to me...

There are plenty of things that I've noticed I seem to be the only person in the world, that likes said thing. Everyone else seems to hate them/ not agree with it.. So here's a list of things, that "apparently", only apply to me..

Animals

• I love dogs, and I don't like cats due to traumatic experiences in my childhood. Like I am literally afraid of cats. My friend has a cat, and one time he moved his paw, and I screamed, because I'm so afraid of them attacking me for no reason. Yet, everyone else in the world loves cats, and if you don't like cats, you're yelled at, and ostracized! (I've been called an idiot, as well as "There being something wrong with me", just for expressing my dislike of cats online.) See Reasons Why I'm a Dog Person

Anime

• I prefer more unknown anime, over popular ones, as I find they tend to be more interesting than popular shows with 55 thousand episodes. (Bleach, Naruto, Dragonball, One Piece .. etc..)
• I did no love Sword Art Online. See my Review as to why.
• I love unknown anime like Saint October, Shangri-La and Trickster. Where as everyone hates them.

Food

That everyone else seems to hates but me!

Tomatoes
Candy Corn.
Cranberry Sauce

Food - I don't like

Alcohol -

Kids

 I don't like kids.
Internet

• I prefer using the search engine Bing, over Google, but everyone else hates Bing!

See Why I like Bing.

Men

• I'm like the only person that thinks George Eads is attractive. (Although, as I've gotten older, I find less actors attractive, and more people IRL attractive.
• Everyone wants to date a young guy in his early 20's, I'd prefer to date someone older in his late 30's!

Other

• Unlike most people, I am good with names, but not faces. Apparently humans are supposed to be good with faces, and not names. This makes me question why it is, I'm so bad with faces? Names are easy, but the only way for me to remember someone's face is if I'm around them for long periods of time. If I'm working in a store, and a customer asks me a question where I have to leave them, and come back. I will come back, not knowing who it was that wanted help! The funniest part is when, I need a co-workers help, I'll tell them they were wearing pink, and blue, but they were wearing black, and white dots! I can't remember people's faces until I'm around them! But I have yet to meet anyone that is good with names like me, and It's also ironic considering I'm an artist!

• I like having work on Sundays because, when I was younger and used to watch cable television, there would never be any TV shows on Sundays. Back then Sundays always dragged on to me, they were just always boring! As an adult, even though I just watch shows online now. Sundays are still very boring, and a drag on. Since I work retail, I do work Sundays, but it's weird when I'm off on one, because it's just such a dull day for me. Everyone else loves being off on Sundays..... Bleh!

• Despite being a male in his twenties, I get hot flashes! However, I only get them on my face, and usually only around spring/summer... I have no idea why it happens... I should probably find out why... (Years later I realized this was a sign that I was eating too much sugar)

Video Games

• I'm one of the few people on the planet that absolutely hates Final Fantasy VII!
• I seem to be the only person to like the characters Quina, and Hope, in the Final Fantasy games.
• Poshul, a talking pink dog in the game Chrono Cross, is one of my favorite characters of all time! I even have a collectible of her. But everyone hates her!
• I'm a Sombra main in Overwatch, and everyone hates her because she takes actual skill to use... (And I OOP)
• I enjoy plenty of Video Games that no one likes, or have heard of.. such as the Suikoden Games, Kya Dark Lineage, Beyond Good & Evil, Malice, Sould Nomad & The World Eaters, Sly Cooper... etc.

Weather

• 90% of my friends love winter, and hate Summer. I absolutely love summer! I hate cold weather, 60 degrees is too cold to me.. I can't take it! But what drives me nuts is, everyone around me likes winter! Meeting someone that likes summer, is an oddity for me. I want more summer lovers in my life, is that a hard thing to ask?

Is it any good?

If you asks what grinds my gears, one thing I could tell you, is when someone asks if something is "Any good"
Examples.:
1."I've never played 'Name of Game', is it any good?"
 2. "Oh, I've always wanted to see that show! Is it any good?"

The reason why these kinds of questions drive me nuts is because... *Drum roll please*

EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT!

We all have different tastes, and opinions! So when someone asks me if something is good, I can only tell them. I don't know your personal tastes, or opinion, that's for you to decide. I personally Like-Dislike it, but you may not.

We all have different opinions, so all because I like something, doesn't mean you will. This question drives me up the wall.. especially when it's on a Question and Answer site. It's like, you're literally a random person that I know from a hole in the wall, how would I possibly know what your tastes are? I may love it, but you could hate it. Although the best case scenario is to say what it's similar to, and see if they like the media you're affiliating it with.

I personally have many favorite characters in video games that everyone hates, I also love Anime, and Video Games, that no one's ever even heard of before! (And will probably hate anyways, because most of the population likes popular things. Poor 'Saint October')

There could be a time when someone asks if something is any good, and everyone says it's bad. But the irony is that, the person asking the question could have enjoyed the subject in question. You just never know!

In my opinion, the only time it's acceptable to ask someone if "It's any good", is when you have a very similar taste in Video Games, Tv shows, Books.. etc..
I have a close friend whom we agree on most stuff, and we watch many of the same shows. So when he recommends something to me, 99% of the time, I end up liking the show (Like when he recommended Shadow-Hunters to me) There was one show he recommended, that I couldn't get into (*Cough* The Magicians *Cough*).. There was also a time where I told him about a show, that he wasn't too thrilled of! (Mainly because the one girl on the show was annoying to him, and they constantly say "anal" on that show! "It's a British series called Crashing".)
So even then, there are still differences in opinion! But most of the stuff he tells me about, I like.

The fact of the matter is, you can't ask someone if something is any good, everyone has their own opinion. We're all going to agree, and disagree on different things. Not to mention, there are plenty of websites with show/game/other, sites that show user ratings. Such as Anime-Planet, or Gamespot. If everyone loved it, or hated it, it'll show.
The best way around this is to do your own research, find out what it's about, and see if you like the plot, the characters, and the art style. You can always give a show a spin, or read an excerpt from a book/comic, and for games, you can always watch a let's play, and see if you like it.

This was a little rant & rave that I wanted to share.
