Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Happy Festivus, Dies Natalis Invicti Solis, Happy New Year. What greeting do you use?
Do you think it's okay to specifically state one holiday to everyone? Or just say Happy Holidays or Season Greetings?
I prefer Happy Holidays, because you can't just assume things, it just makes an ass out of you and me! I'm sure there are plenty of people who hate Christmas because it's talked about all the time, and they don't even celebrate it. I think it can be rude when everyone says Merry Christmas, especially to people who don't celebrate it. It's like saying "Cheers to being sober!", to someone who's never had an addiction to drugs, or alcohol, it's like, what the hell?! Or asking an overweight woman, when their baby is due. It just doesn't qualify to them.
Although, if you specifically know what someone celebrates, then it's okay, in my opinion.
But I don't think it's right saying something like Merry Christmas to everyone, that would be just like if everyone said Happy Hanukkah to people of Catholic religions, I think lot's of people would be offended if that happened.
Another thing I don't like, is when people say Happy Christmas, instead of Merry Christmas, I just think it sounds very weird and off!
It's my party and I'll cry if I want to, cry if I want to...... I Always hated that song! I think it was in the movie, Problem Child, with John Ritter. I swear, that movie traumatized me as a kid.
So my birthday is on Saturday December 20th, and not only am I FORCED TO WORK because I work in retail, the most soul sucking and crappiest job on the planet. But I have no choice but to work on my birthday because at my store, you cannot take off the Saturday before Christmas... Not only that, but I am turning 25, a milestone birthday! On top of that, I can't really do anything for my birthday and most of my friends can't really hang out with me on my birthday or anything because they're really busy due to the holidays.
I was really hoping that I would have gotten a new job by now, but things don't always go as planned.
I was thinking of re-scheduling my birthday to a month from now, this way everyone can go and do something with me!
A little birthday card I made!
Also, check out this video by Peter Anguila, it's definitely something....
This Throwback Thursday is about my three favorite video game series! Suikoden, Chrono and Kya Dark Lineage. News about the Suikoden games have reminded me of all the good times I have had with each series separately, my favorite of each though is Suikoden II, Chrono Cross and Kya Dark Lineage (The latter has no sequel). All three series have had a tremendous impact on my life in some way, and they are all amazing games!
The name of this blog post's title is for the future of these game series, although Kya and Chrono are currently dead, the Suikoden series has had some commotion recently. Dedicated fans such as myself made a commotion to the company that created the series, Konami. The fans successfully made notice to Konami, and now the second game is coming to the PSN network, which by the way, the physical copy is so rare it goes for over 100 dollars on ebay! Now people who have been dying to play it, but never had the money, will now get the chance to play it!
With all of the fan commotion, hopefully Konami will understand that we would love to see a new game! (As of 2019, this is most likely never going to happen. Konami doesn't care about it's games anymore, but it's slot machines, and casinos. If the company would give the rights to another gaming company, and have the original creators. Then we might be able to see a new game)
Suikoden has not had a true sequel since 2005, there have been two spin offs though. The first spin off, Suikoden Tierkreis, came out in 2009, and was not well received by fans. The second spin off, Suikoden Tsumugareshi, came out in 2012 and was never released in English!
Suikoden II in particular, has to do with the hero, an orphan who is betrayed by his own comrades. The hero must stand up to fight against the empire he was once a part of, traveling across the world, and recruiting allies to help him fight in a war against the Highland Army.
For more about the Suikoden series, check out this link.
The last Chrono game came out in 2000, one of the creators said if fans want to see a sequel, we must keep buying Chrono Trigger and Cross.
Chrono Cross is about a boy named Serge, he lived a normal life until one day he goes out to a beach with his friends. Suddenly, he is transported to another dimension where he died when he was 7!
Trying to figure out what is going on, he meets a girl named Kid, who is going after a man named Lynx who knows something about an artifact called the Frozen Flame.
Serge goes on a journey to help Kid find the Frozen Flame, and makes friends along the way, who are also after the Frozen Flame.

Kya Dark Lineage was a sleeper hit by Eden games that came out in 2003, most who played it loved the game. The unfortunate thing is that the company did not advertise it very well, with slogans like "More fun than belly button lint!", it's safe to say Kya did not get a fair chance to shine properly. Not to mention, with all the Action/Adventure/Platformers that were released around the same time. People wouldn't have been able to choose which games to play!
Kya Dark Lineage is about a young woman named Kya, upon discovering a hidden room with her brother Frank, they are simultaneously teleported to another universe! When Kya awakes, Frank is no where to be found, and she is being chased by evil creatures known as Wolfen. She is not the only one being chased, other beings known as Nativs are on the run from them too, and eventually they escape and the Nativs bring Kya to a village known as Nativ City . The Nativs have been terrorized by these Wolf creatures known as Wolfen. Wolfen are actually Nativs who are transformed into Wolfen when captured. The mastermind behind Wolfen, is in fact a man named Brazul. Kya does not know Brazul's intentions, but she plans to help restore the Wolfen to their Nativ form, find Frank, put a stop to Brazul and find a way home.
Here is a list of advantages there are for being a shut in who doesn't get out that much or at all!
• You have lot's of free time for yourself.
• You don't have to worry about being friends with fake people, or backstabbers. If you meet these kinds of people, you probably don't talk to them that much anyways, so it's easy to get away from them.
• You have a much less likely chance of contracting any diseases, such as stupidity.
• You have more time for yourself. So if you're in a romantic relationship with someone, that means you can spend lot's of time with them, rather than the hundreds of friends you don't have. (The downside however, is that it's hard to get a date, because you never leave the house!)
• You get to always catch up on tv shows you've missed, or play video games for hours. As well as do any other hobby you like doing, drawing, reading, anything you can think of. Since you don't go anywhere, you always have time for yourself!
• You don't have to deal with people that much, or at all, especially psycho's, jerks, or stupid people.
• You don't spend lot's of money in stores all day, unless you buy online.
• If you buy online, you don't have to worry about waiting in line at a store, any errors, as well as mean customers, or associates.
• You're mostly shut in from the world, and don't get affected by the world as much as others may be.
• If you aren't a celebrity whore, you probably know little to nothing about celebrities these days and that is a good thing, or bad thing, depending on your views.
• It's especially great if you're a shut in with a work at home job!
•You can do silly things all the time at home, and no one would care because they don't even know you exist!
• You don't know many people, so you don't have to go to lame parties all the time, or help people with their personal problems that you wouldn't be fond of listening about.
• Your best friend is either your pet, lover, fictional character or an online bestie.
• You don't deal with much drama, or none at all, since you are accompanied by you, and only you.
• Did I forget to mention you don't have to deal with people that much? I might have left that one out. ;P
Have any other advantages of being a shut in? Comment below!
So today is American Thanksgiving, and I wanted to make a short post. I thought up of some interesting ebay products that could give you ideas for gifts for everyone! Whether it's for Christmas, Hanukah, a birthday... etc
Please keep in mind many of these items take a month to get in, so it could be too late! But there's always next year, plus it's never bad to spoil yourself!
Keep in mind that many of these items have tons and tons of separate sellers! So, you may even want to look it up yourself, and see what other colors or prices you can find. Please be aware, most of these items are under 5 dollars, I know how to find them deals yo. :P
Cookie Comb and Mirror Compact
Get ready to accessorize with the cookie compact!
Straight out of a episode of Totally Spies!
Sure, it may look like a cookie, but it's not! It opens up to a little mirror and comb! It's a nifty item that's cute, and is small enough to fit in your pocket with ease!
It's from a company based in China who has sold tons of these necklaces, they come in all sorts of designs too. They are very cool, and they always get some notice whenever I wear mine, not only that but they make great presents!
I'm going to put in my two dollars worth, so you can decide!
I have a friend who loves history and is all about it, they made a post on facebook about students who shouldn't go to college if they don't know their history. I find this remark a little weird, yes it is important to know about the past. But when it comes to the degree you're going for, it doesn't really matter at all. What matters to them is the knowledge that they seek for their desired profession.
If you were to ask me, I think it's good to know some history. It never hurts to be well a rounded individual that knows a bit of everything, rather than someone who knows only certain things. But I don't think it should be the biggest deal if you don't know much about history, unless of course that is your major, or the type of job you're seeking.
A good reason for the knowledge of history is as they say "History likes to repeat itself", one could say we can prevent history from repeating itself by gaining knowledge about history!
I think since my friend is a history buff, it means something to them. But someone like me, who is an Art major, it doesn't bother me very much if someone doesn't know that much about their history. (Or if I don't know/remember much about history.) [I realized I pretty much forgot most things about history, and school in general, after I graduated high school. I don't remember most of it!]
It really depends on the way you look at it, and your own opinion on the subject. To me, there is no real answer. It's useful if you like it, and useless, if it's just not your cup of tea.
If you think about it though, history class is pretty much pointless when it comes to the real world. There aren't many jobs that have to do with knowing the past, it isn't exactly a popular subject that everyone is running off to. In fact, I'd say the only good thing a history degree could do would be either a teacher/professor, historian, something along the lines of those professions. I don't think being knowledgeable in history is of big importance, especially if you have no interest in it. Since many job occupations have no use for history, it's really not all that useful, except for personal gain.
Although I agree that people should know about their, and other countries history. I don't think it's the golden pedestal of importance either, History is probably even better as a course that you would want to take, just a little to the side kind of thing.
I also personally do not find most of history interesting, I really only like Greek Mythology, and the Renaissance era. Otherwise, I find most of it really boring, especially stuff about wars. (I hate wars, war movies, and war games! [Oh my!])
The parts I find interesting about history is all stuff I've found out on my own, not in school! The best way to learn is when you want to learn about it, and I think that is very important too. Most people find history boring, and if they don't like it, they don't want to know about it. (This can also be applied to any other subject as well.)
For me, I love knowing things about how the world was, in a different time (Such as the Piri Reis map). I don't really care about the wars or the civilizations, but the world and only certain types of cultures. I really enjoy the medieval era, renaissance, ancient Egypt, Cryptids, Mythology, Legends, Mysteries, but I also like to know what the world was like back then, mainly because I love nature and art. I like the history of Pangaea, and how Antarctica used to actually be a warmer climate at one point in time! I like that kind of history, not about the people, but the world and the art forms of the planet. I also have a thing where I think Jesters are cool... which is also weird because I have Coulrophobia! (Fear of clowns)
It can be very interesting to think about what other people have done in the past, what kinds of peace, chaos, and adventures they have been on or experienced in their lives.
Whether history is useful or useless, is up for you to decide, and for some people it will always be useless, and for others, very useful.
History can be useless job wise, as it doesn't allow you to get many jobs. While other degrees have a broader job market, History doesn't have it as big.
I really don't think there is a right or wrong answer for this question, but I also don't think it's something that should control your entire life either. I don't think you should be denied going to college, that's just silly. But it should be acknowledged at the very least!
Pancho's
are these mushroom like monsters, but are known as Bread Fairy monsters. They are the first monster you can capture
in the KEMCO Mobile phone RPG "Band of Monsters".
They're
pretty strong and there are other versions of them as well, such as a pancho that is strong against fire magic, or one that heals. The strongest monster in the game is in fact a variation of
Pancho!
They even appear in another Kemco game as well.
Chrono
Crono, Serge
The
mascots for the Chrono games, Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, would
most likely be the main characters. Crono and Serge, plus the other main
characters, Kid, Lucca and Marle.
You
can't forget the mascot to one of the most popular RPG's of all time!
The Moogle! A cute furry little creature, sometimes they are even
playable characters.
This
creature right here is named "Stuff", he is the creature mascot of the
game. He allows other characters to communicate with Kya telepathically
when she is not with them.
There
are also these little critters known as Micken, they come in all sorts
of colors, but their main color is red, the other colors are rare finds
that you can capture and put into a zoo.
As terrible as this sounds, Mickens are very bouncy and Kya can use them to jump on, in order to get to a higher area!
These little creatures don't do much except eat grass.
The Rabite from the Mana series, Secret of Mana, Legend of Mana, Dawn of Mana, Heroes of Mana etc... A Popular Rabbit monster and usually an early enemy in all of the games.
Pokemon
Pikachu
The popular anime, and video game character, Pikachu has been the mascot for the series since the beginning of the anime.
Although Ash's original starter Pokemon was a bad mouthing Clefairy in the original manga.
The Holly Boy is another monster that either appears in every game, or has a variation. Generally a weak monster, and always appears in the beginning of the game.
In Suikoden IV, the holly boy that appears is actually a form of seaweed that the heroes encounter while on board of a ship.
Other variations include Papa Holly and holly Fairies.
Characters (Suikoden)
Character wise, the three returning characters who have appeared in every main title Suikoden could be the mascots of the series.
Jeane, a rune mistress. Her Charm rune, allows for enemies to block damage, that she would receive from another enemy attack. The ability varies per games she is in. It can also allow allies to block damage for her, or even have enemies attack their friends instead.
Viki, a strange girl who can teleport through time, and space. She allows the hero to teleport to places they've already visited. She has a special ability in battle, which allows her to teleport allies, and enemies to other places in battle. As well as teleport random items, to fall on enemies heads.
The Chrono series has two games, and one text based visual novel.
Chrono Trigger, was the first game that came out in 1993. Radical Dreamers: The Unstealable Jewel, was the visual novel that only came out in Japan. Last but not least is Chrono Cross, which came out in 1999, and is personally my favorite, but also my introduction into the series.
If the animation looks familiar, the same creator of Dragon Ball did the animation, and character art for Chrono Trigger!
The main character, and silent protagonist. He wields a sword, and has an affinity for lightning/holy magic. Lucca: A mad scientist, and one of Crono's best friends. She uses a gun/mallet as her weapon, and uses fire magic. She's the engineer of the group, and sometimes can help with mechanical issues that may arise.
Robo: A giant robot, whom Lucca takes a fascination from. Due to being a robot, robo has no magic abilities. Marle: A princess, whos weapon is a crossbow, and is good with water magic. Frog: Previously a knight, who was turned into a frog. His real name is Glenn, and they introduce a Glenn in the second game as somewhat of a nod to Frog. Like Marle, he also uses water magic.
Ayla: A cavewoman from 65,000,000 BC, we meet her mother in Chrono Cross. Due to being born before magic was found, she has no magic capabilities. Secret Character: Is the 7th, and final character to join the party. He starts off as a villain, who later joins Crono and his team. His weapon is a scythe, and he uses dark magic.
Story:
The game starts with the hero Crono meeting up with his friend Lucca, at a festival in a nearby town. Upon arrival, he bumps into a mysterious blonde girl named Marle. The two tour the town, until they find Lucca, and her new invention, a teleportation machine! Marle decides to give the machine a try, and instead of teleporting to another teleporting pod, she disappears without a trace! Marle was wearing an amulet, that when it was used in the pod, it instead sent her to a different time period.
The pendant stayed in their time, in which Crono goes after Marle! Lucca later joins up.
Crono, Marle and Lucca find themselves in 600 AD, medieval times. (Crono and the gang are from 1000 AD.)
Pierre from Chrono Cross
Battles:
Unlike many RPGs, including it's sequel, Chrono Cross. Battles in Chrono Trigger appear on screen, in real time.
Characters are also able to do combo attacks with other characters, Lucca for example, can turn Crono's sword into fire, and deal a fire attack on enemies in the surrounding area.
Magic:
They eventually meet Frog in this era of the past, and find out about magic. Each character has a specific affinity to a certain element, and can use spells based on that element. Crono is Light and can use Light and lightning based spells, Lucca is Fire, Marle is Ice, Frog is Water, Magus is Shadow and Robo and Ayla cannot use magic due to Robo being a robot, and Ayla was born before the times of magic. Robo does have attacks that are Shadow, Fire and Lightning based. Based on Ayla's attacks, if she were a magical being, she would probably have Earth. As one of her attacks is "Boulder Toss". Earth magic does not exist in Chrono Trigger, but it does in Chrono Cross. In fact, Ayla's mother appears in Cross, and her element is yellow. Which is lightning/earth.
Magic varies between games. In Chrono Trigger, characters can use real magic they obtain as they level up. While in Chrono Cross, the characters use a fake magic, that can be purchased at shops.
There's a little bit of an error, as one of the covers for Chrono Trigger shows Marle using fire magic, when she cannot actually use fire, only Lucca can.
Bio:
Crono, and his friends go on a journey through time, they find out that there is an alien being known as Lavos. Lavos has been in their world since the very beginning, around Ayla's time period. Lavos is sucking the life force out of the planet, and on 1999 the planet will die out, and cause the world to go to waste. Crono and his friends get to go into the future, to see what happens to the world. Crono, and friends decide to stop Lavos, and save the world.
My favorite time period is when Crono and the gang go to 65,000,000,000 BC. It's mostly a volcanic island, with some really nice music, and scenery!
Radical Dreamers
Radical Dreamers is a text based game created three years after Chrono Trigger, and was never released in English.
It stars Serge, Kid, and Magil, who are after the ancient artifact known as the Frozen Flame, which is a fragment of Lavos.
Chrono Cross is largely based off of Radical Dreamers, Serge and Kid are main characters, while the main enemy Lynx, is also the enemy in Cross as well. Magil, is not in Cross, however, the character Guile is possibly based off of him.
Many of the songs in Radical Dreamers are re-used in Chrono Cross.
Bio:
Chrono Cross takes place 20 years after the events of Chrono Trigger, it stars Serge a 17 year old boy from the village of Arni. On his way to Opassa beach, he gets teleported to another dimension. In this world, he died ten years ago, when he was 7. He bumps into a strange girl named Kid, who is off to Viper Manor to go and steal a magical item known as the Frozen Flame! Kid is chasing after an anthropomorphic panther man named Lynx, who is also after the Frozen Flame. Serge decides to accompany her, in search of the Frozen Flame.
The beginning of the game entails a dream that Serge has, it involves Serge, Kid, and randomly one of the other 45 playable characters. Going to Fort Dragonia, to defeat Lynx. This is a really interesting feature, as you get to see all of the colorful characters that are in the game, right from the beginning.
Harleequin (Harle for short), a leading character in Chrono Cross.
There are a total of 45 playable characters in the game, not all can be recruited in one sitting. Some can only join if certain needs are met.
There are three separate characters to recruit, on your way to a place called Viper Manor. Once you recruit one, you can't get the other two, unless you start a new save!
The same can be said for a storyline later on, when trying to save a character. If you find a way to save them, three specific characters can join, and if you don't try to save them, three others will join you instead.
If you've completed the game, and have saves with all the characters, there is a way in the end of the game to automatically have all 45 characters!
The funny thing is that there were supposed to be more than 60 characters, as well as a "journey to the west" scenario. Unfortunately this was scrapped, but you can find out about it by searching up unused characters in Chrono Cross, if you're interested!
Battle:
Despite the fact that the game has 45 playable characters, Chrono Cross sticks with Chrono Trigger's 3 character party.
Battles are different from Trigger, as the battles are not time based, and the screen fades to enter a new "Battle" area, like in most rpg's..
The interesting thing about Cross is that every character has 3 levels of regular attacks.
The higher the level, the stronger, while the lower is weaker. Level 1 is the weakest while level three is the strongest, but the higher the attack the easier for enemies to dodge! So, you have a better chance of hitting an enemy with a level 1 attack, than a level 3 attack.
Each level of attack has a different animation too, which is really interesting. On level 1, Serge will stab an opponent with his weapon, while a level three attack he does a spin slash attack and each level has two animations. The interesting thing with levels is that some characters can actually attack all enemies with their level 3 attack, but it has a better chance of missing. Characters with Boomerangs, and magic staffs can attack all enemies with their level 3 attack, this only includes 5 characters in total, with there being 3 staff users and 2 boomerang users. Staff users actually shoot magic orbs at enemies on their 3rd level, while boomerang users do a strong throw to hit all enemies.
The amount of normal attacks you can do is based on the characters stamina points, usually you can only use the third level attack twice and maybe one 1 level attack per round. Weaker attacks use less stamina, while stronger attacks use more stamina, so you could do many more level 1 attacks than level 3 in one turn.
The level attacks also allow the character to use magic, if the character uses a level 1 attack, they unlock their level 1 magic spells, while level 3 would unlock level three spells, and if they do a level three attack again, it would unlock level 6 spells.
Skelly from Chrono Cross
Magic:Elements
Unlike Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross has a different set of magic. Elements are purchasable items that allow characters to use a magic spell once per battle. If a character has one fireball spell equipped, they can use it once. If they equip 3 of them, they can use it up to three times. Elements recharge after battle, which is a nice battle mechanic that hasn't been used in a game before.
Chrono Trigger is the opposite, where a character has a natural ability to use magic, which used magic power, instead of recharging after battle.
Elements allow for the player to choose who can use what kind of spell, which I think is also better, since I hate it when characters can only use certain set spells (like Chrono Trigger). I like it when you can give whatever you want to a character, be it magic, or weapons. While most elements are items you can buy at shops, some are consumable, and rare ones are usually only found while treasure hunting.
There are 6 elemental affinities in Chrono Cross, White, Black, Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. White is Light magic, Black is Dark, Red is Fire, Blue is Water, Green is Wind and Poison, and Yellow is Earth and Lightning.
Each character has an elemental affinity, Serge is White, while Kid is Red. Certain elements can be more powerful against others, and characters who have that affinity, will have more stronger attacks with those spells. A Red element spell would be more powerful when Kid uses it, rather than when Serge uses it.
Each element has an opposite, and when the opposite element is used, it damages the character more than it would another element.
Red innate characters are weaker to blue innate spells than a green innate character would be, while blue innate characters are weaker to red innate spells.
Red < > Blue
Yellow < > Green
White < > Black
Each character gets 3 special elements that are attributed to their personality, and fighting style, they get more as bosses are defeated. Everyone gets their first two special attack elements at the same boss battles, but some characters you have to do something in particular to get their last attack. For example, the character Poshul must speak to the character Leena, in Serge's original world, in order to get her final element called Unleashed.
Some elements can also only be used by characters with that elemental affinity, a blue innate character can't use special elements that can only be used by fire innates, those elements all have stars next to them and usually have certain circumstances to obtain and use. Really powerful elements such as "Frog Prince", which only blue innates can use, must actually be captured with an element that traps other powerful elements.
Elements are equipped to an element grid on the character, the grids have levels. There are 8 levels, each characters first special element attack is on the third level of the grid, their second special attack is on 5 and their third special element attack is on the 7th level. Every character's element grid is different, their element slots all appear at different times.
In order to attach elements to characters, they have an element grid. There is a certain amount of slots that characters can unlock, and the grid also has levels. Level 1 slot on the grid, is the weakest, while level 8 is the strongest. Elements themselves do better, average or worse when on certain levels. A fireball Element is a level 1 spell, and will do good on any level, but if it's put on a level higher than level one, the power of it increases and it becomes Fireball +1, +2, +3 etc..
Some Elements can't even be equipped to lower levels on the grids, while others can also suffer if they are put on a lower class, a negative sign will appear and the spell will be weaker than normal.
Elements also replace use-able items, instead of having a potion in the party bag, you equip items like "Tablet" to a characters element grid in order for the character to use the item. (Tablets, Capsule, and Nostrum, are all consumable elements.)
Elements are more complicated than normal magic in Chrono Trigger, but they're much more customizable. You can give any character almost whatever element you want to give them.
Mojo, a living VooDoo Doll.
Characters - Chrono Cross has a total of 45 playable characters! From talking dogs, to skeleton clowns, Voodoo Dolls that spread love, Dancers and Artists with boomerangs! Chrono Cross has a creative cast of playable characters that join Serge on his adventure to uncover the secrets of the world, and it's two alternate realities!
My two favorite characters are Poshul, a talking pink dog, and Van, a painter whose weapon is a boomerang.
Poshul
Van
Visuals
The imagery in Chrono Cross is just as amazing as Chrono Trigger, and maybe even better.
The creators made a blend of 2D sprites and 3D and they did it right, the backgrounds to places are just stunning! I definitely recommend checking out some of the official artwork!
65,000,000 BC (Chrono Trigger)
Opassa Beach (Chrono Cross)
The world Map, is smaller than most games. But you are traveling through two dimensions where the same place will have different settings, there are about 4 towns in total, double it and you have 8 places where you can buy stuff.
Towns being Arni, Serge's home place, Guldove, Termina and Marbule, the town of demi humans. The other places are dungeons, and tropical get-a-ways.
When I was little, I was always so disappointed that you never get to go to this little island that is south from Arni village. I always thought you would get the fairy character Razzly there, I thought you'd find her in the woods or something. I also thought something similar for another place "Fossil Valley", where you meet the character Skelly, for the first time. For some reason, I thought there was a separate path behind Skelly, to go to another town. I don't know why I thought this, but I kind of wish it existed!
So that is my detailed review on the Chrono series, I've played both Trigger and Cross and they're both great games! Although, it may be obvious that I prefer Cross. It was my first game out of the series, and I just loved everything about it. Suikoden was my first RPG, and to me Chrono Cross had many similarities, and I think that's a big reason why I loved Cross so much.
Did you know?
Magus from Chrono Trigger, Magil from Radical Dreamers, and Guile from Chrono Cross. Were all supposed to be the same character in disguise! Guile, is in fact not Magus.
Today was a busy day for me, and since I haven't finished any of my posts on the back burner, I'll just post some Halloween images I made! I may post something else later in the week though.
This is a post about my favorite ships, when I say that, I don't mean pirate ships!
For those who don't know, a "ship" is when you pair two characters in a romantic relationship, and want to see them together as a couple. So like if you like character A, and you think that their friendship with character B is, "more than just a friendship", you can board the ship and hope that they end up together. This can lead to fan fiction, and fan images, it can be really fun to get into. Sites like tumblr, or fanfiction.net are great places to look for nice things that relate with your ship!
Not to be confused with a pirate ship!
The first ship I really got into is a weird one, It involves two characters from the anime Bleach.
Ichigo, the main character, and an enemy known as Grimmjow.
I just came across a picture of them, and I thought they would make a cute couple! The interesting thing is, they do have some similarities, which could lead in a good reason for them to get together. I haven't seen Bleach for quite some time, but I remember they both had similar personality traits, like being hot headed, and never giving up. The best couples are the ones that are similar to each other!
I originally had a bunch of pictures posted of the two, but I don't want to get sued for copyright infringement, so unfortunately I took them down. Which kind of ruins the aesthetic of the post.
My next pairing is from the anime Angel Beats, with main character Otonashi, and another character named Naoi. In the anime, Naoi is very affectionate towards Otonashi, and is always there for him. I always thought they would be cute together!
My next ship is from the anime Free! Free!, is a homo-erotic anime about swimming. it's heavily hinted that the characters like each other more than just friends, and one of the creators even made a post on twitter about one of the characters being the other characters "other half".
Haru x Makoto, they've known each other since they were little. In the end of season 2, they even have a fight, and other characters act like they're as if they are a married couple that just got into a fight. In the end of the anime they go off together to another city.
Rei X Nagisa, Nagisa being my favorite character in Free! Nagisa continuously went to Rei and asked him to join their swim club.
A year ago I made a post called My Life: What is going on?! As seen here.
(A drawing I made of my friend Jennie, as an adventurer, looking for her mummy!)
I'd like to update.
Even though my life has been spiraling out of control, it's not all that bad. Even though I got an associates in Graphic Design, it has been a useless degree, however there was a lawsuit with my college, and I am actually getting a nice chunk of money to help pay off my loans! I won't have to worry about getting a good job for a while to help pay the loans, not that I shouldn't get a good job, I still will!
While I still do work in retail, I was put in a different position that made the job less of a nightmare.
I am however, planning on leaving for a much more suitable office job once I get my driver's license. The ironic part is, I've hated retail so much that it has inspired me to get my license. The problem was, there are no office jobs where the bus can take me.
It's really funny, even though my life was and still does spiral out of control, what they say is true. It does get better! I know that my life has been a wreck for a while, but I know the pieces of the puzzle are starting to go into place. Everything will make sense soon enough, and it will all work out in the end.
I made this post in order to shed some light, things don't always go as planned. But it does get better and you have to work hard so it can get better, you can't always let life push you around! Don't let people take advantage of you, sometimes you do need to be selfish, you have to grab life by the balls and tell it that you're going to change things for yourself! It is about time that you do something that will benefit you and that will help you go to a better place in your life!
Life can and will always get better! But you have to make sure that you're trying to make it better too! Sitting around like a smelly slug won't help!
Most importantly! We must remember to enjoy ourselves!
Today's post is about my life, as a loner, or a hermit. In Japan, hermits are sometimes known as "Hikkimori". The more you know....ordidn'tcaretoknow.
A Hermit is someone who tends to stay in his or her room/house all day, every day and does not really socialize at all or just rarely.
I am a Hermit/Loner, because I just go to work, come home, and just hang out at my house. Every now and again I go out with my friends, but usually only once every three months, I just don't get out much...
I'm mainly a loner because society has rejected me, even though I do want a social life. My shyness and introverted nature has lead me to not get out much at all, and without most people really lending a helping hand, I've been isolated from social interaction for most of my life.
It's really funny though, because everyone always says I am very cool to be around, I bring a smile on people's faces, and I'm devastatingly beautiful! :P But, at the same time, no one has time for me. It's kind of ironic and weird..
Me, the lone flower.
I didn't choose the hermit life, the hermit life chose me! You see, I've always been shy my entire life. Being shy has lead me to not really have friends growing up, a non existent love life, and being socially awkward to the point that I don't always know what I am supposed to do or say when in a social situations.
When I went to school, I would get bullied, and I only had two friends. I didn't see my friends as much after the 4th grade, since I was left back because I had hearing problems, and then went to another school in the 5th grade. In the 6th grade, I moved and I didn't see my friends anymore. It was a whole new ball park, and I ended up making acquaintances. I will say I made more conversation with people in Middle, and Highschool, than in lower grades.
(I also went to catholic school from grade K-4th, and the students, and teachers were all assholes. I'd never recommend a catholic school EVER, they were mentally abusive! The only people that were nice to me, were my friends.)
The kids in middle school I would sometimes talk to, and by the time I was in my last year in high school, I was a ghost because all of the people I talked to were older than me and left. I just went to school and that was it... (On a side note, no one even thought I was a senior. One kid freaked out that I was a senior, because I always look younger than I am! lol)
The kids I "befriended" in highschool, were just people I talked to while the classes were going. I hadn't actually hang out with any of them, or anything. There's only one person from HS that will message me on facebook sometimes! He's the closest thing to a friend I had in that school. (I did become friends with someone in college, who went to the same schools, but we didn't know each other yet, so I won't count her in this part.)
By the time I went to college, I didn't have any real friends. I never hung out with anyone before and I had never had a sleep over or anything. I said that I made acquaintances in high school is because that's what they were, they didn't care enough about me to really get to know me, no one asked me to hang out with them or anything. I was always so shy, that I could never make friends that would stick around. There was one person that actually came over my house, but he was just using me. He would torment me at my house, and then he borrowed a game from me and never gave it back. In which he moved afterwards. (You can see that game, and post here) The only friends I truly had were video games, which is why I've always loved them. I was always quickly immersed in another world with a reality much different than my own, filled with adventures and interesting characters. It was to the extent that I saw the characters as my own friends! You never have to worry about fighting with them, or them abandoning you, they're always there for you. Video games were there for me, when real friends were non existent...
Of course, I did make a few true friends online.
It wasn't until my last year of college that I actually made some real friends. The last year of college that I had, I finally did make friends. It was all because I added someone from high school on facebook, they told me to meet them at college because she was also going there. I finally made friends just because of one facebook add! I became friends with her, and everyone else that was in our little group, it wasn't until then that I met some really good people that for once actually stuck around!
I know that must be depressing, but I think it's a good thing. No matter what your situation, you will always meet the right people eventually! Sometimes it's also good to have courage and do something out of your element as well, even if you make one friend, they can open up a world of endless possibilities!
Check out an older post I made about friendship here.
On a weird note, something that seems to happen to me a whole lot is the fact that whenever I make plans, they always go wrong. It's almost like I'm an anime character, one who is just really awkward and things just don't always go the way they should! Such as Tomoko from the anime Watamote!
1. For my last birthday 12/20/2013, I invited a few of my friends to go out on the town with me. About 7 or 8 of them. What ended up happening was, none of them could make it except for three people and two of them were unavailable until like 9pm. I got to spend time with one of my friends for most of the day, which was nice of course, but I wanted to spend time with everyone together... 2. One time I invited a couple of my friends to a magic fair, two of them couldn't make it and everyone lse canceled except my one friend. 3. I tried inviting my friends to a game of Trivia months later, but that never happened because one of my friends didn't respond for hours because of her terrible phone service. (Although, it was a last minute thing) 4. Another time, I invited 5 of my friends to hang out with us and go to some cool magic stores. Two couldn't make it, and one of them was only able to chill for 2 hours. 5. I wanted to see a movie, and that never happened because my friend went with her other friends. She didn't want to see it, because she wanted to see it with me. But they wanted to see it too. Then I tried making plans with her, but things didn't work out. (It was Guardians of the Galaxy, which as of 2018, I have still not seen it. My friend also moved to another country too. lol [We still talk])
It seems like the universe does not want me to get to enjoy being around the friends that I've made in the last 4 years.
Not to say that every plan has backfired, the only ones that went well were in fact...the ones I did not plan....
Let's all be a loner on a tropical island!
What's even worse is that it's almost like no one has time for me, everyone has their other friends that they would probably prefer to hang out with. I'm new to having real friends, so I don't know how everything works, which also leads to other social awkward things that happen to me. (Also never knowing what to say, or how to start conversations sometimes can get to me)
It's weird, it's like I finally have friends, but everything that could go wrong, goes wrong!
I know my friends are there for me, I just need to figure out how it all works out.
It seems like everyone always chooses someone else over me too..
There have been plenty of times people would tell me they would do something with me, and then end up forgetting entirely and act like they never even asked. I made a blog post about that, so if you want to read that.. click this.
Due to the fact that I have always been shy, and I never went out to hang with anyone..Also the fact that I am a late bloomer when it comes to my own sexuality. (I was 19 when I realized I was attracted to men). I've also never been in a romantic relationship before.. NOT EVER... I've never been kissed or anything. I am going to be 25 in December of 2014 and I've never had a boyfriend...
Now normally I don't have a problem with this, but sometimes something happens and it just gets to me. Like everyone around me, let's say they've been places (Like the garage! jk).. and my one friend is basically the reincarnation of Blanche Devereaux from the Golden Girls. He's bi too so it's even more wild. I also have a friend who is a few years younger than me, and she has a boyfriend and she lost her V card recently. Although I didn't know this, I just thought it was cool that I wasn't the only one who has never been with anyone. But now that I'm alone on that boat again, it just bothered me for a bit, even though it shouldn't bother me because it never usually does. The only reason why it bothers me is because of how society views sexual behavior, something that I never care about is how society sees me. Yet, I let society get to me, and also that kid in high school who said I would end up being the 60 year old virgin.
(Actually, I ended up making a friend in 2016, who is two years younger
than me, and still a virgin. He will most likely stay one, as he doesn't
experience much sexual desire. )
But I got so upset that I was older than a good portion of my friends, and they've played the devils tango already! It just got to me, even though it shouldn't get to me at all, I never care about society and how it views things... but every now and again, there's a crack in the surface.
My one friend who is older than me, told me that she was 26, and that I shouldn't worry. Which definitely helped, but what bothered me even more is that I let this get to my head. I don't care about silly things like that, and it got to me anyways. But you know what, sometimes things do get by and affect you, but you just have to get back up and stay strong.
If you've ever seen the anime called "Watamote", that is basically my life. Watamote is about a girl named Tomoko, she is a high schooler. Tomoko is incredibly shy, she has no friends and she just sits around in her room playing video games, watching anime, reading manga and other things like surfing the net.
Many people actually relate to this anime, so I would assume I am not the only one.
I feel like my shyness has made me a hermit.. but at the same time, I feel like no one has time for me... So it's almost like I'm supposed to be a hermit forever, but at the same time, I know things can get better, and that they will. I think my being a late bloomer also has something to do with it, I haven't yet experienced what other people have, but I know I can, soon.
Even though this post has been a downer, I don't want anyone thinking it really is that much of one. When I first created this post, I was down. However, I am not anymore. I wanted to make this post to show other people my experiences, as well as show people with similar situations that they are not alone, as well as tell people that it can always get better! Sometimes you do need to get out of your comfort zone too, (Working in retail can actually help make you more outgoing as well).
